The City of San Anselmo's municipal services will continue to be funded by property tax revenue. While it is undeniable that this is a regressive way to raise funds, and we wish that municipal services could be adequately funded, the community has long suffered from a system that favors the wealthy and large corporations, so we support a fair and equitable tax system that allows the next generation, regardless of their background, to have access to quality public education and public services. For now, ensuring that the community has access to the resources it needs is paramount, and this property tax is an unavoidable choice.
