Measure V – Ask Hotel Guests to Pitch In for Affordable Housing

City of East Palo Alto

The recession is threatening public services, and asking those who are wealthy enough to travel to pitch in a little more for all of us is a responsible solution. This measure raises $390,000 to develop and buy affordable housing by raising taxes by 1% on people who rent hotel rooms. It is supported by Mayor Regina Wallace Jones, homeless advocate Pastor Paul Bains, and the President of the East Palo Alto Senior Center, Millicent Grant.
