Measure K – Authorize Limited Cannabis Businesses

Sausalito

Sausalito currently bans cannabis sales entirely. While this measure is restrictive, allowing two cannabis permits is better than none. As the cannabis economy becomes more normalized in California, cities and towns are allowing permits for sellers to come to the community and boost the economy. This measure has a lot of restrictions, including many that would make it hard for low-income Black people and other people of color, the people who’ve been most impacted by the racist prosecution of marijauna, to open a store and benefit. That said, pulling down the ban is a good first step.
